Therapeutic Arts

At OCCTAC, we understand the power of therapeutic practices in promoting well-being, growth, and recovery. Welcome to The Therapeutic Arts Department (TAC), where we offer an array of services designed to support emotional recovery and developmental challenges. Our primary focus is to provide valuable support to Children and Youth with neurodiversity, commonly referred to as individuals with disabilities or special needs. Through engagement with art, dance, and music, we aim to enhance their quality of life and foster positive interactions.

  • Workshops for Parents: Empowering parents with insights and tools for assisting their children's development.

  • Complimentary Psychological Therapy: When available, we provide access to psychological therapy to complement our programs.

  • Therapeutic Arts, Dance, and Music Classes: These skills-based classes offer a space for consistent happiness and routine while exposing neurodiverse children and youth to artistic stimuli.

  • Dance and Movement: Encourages physical responses, nonverbal communication, and emotional healing.

  • Visual Arts: Fosters self-expression, fine motor skills, and cognitive development.

  • Music: Aids nonverbal communication, emotional regulation, patience, and self-confidence.

Unveiling Therapeutic Arts Classes: A Journey to Joy
Our therapeutic arts classes are not conventional learning experiences. Instead, they provide a safe and joyful environment for neurodiverse children and youth to engage with art, dance, and music. While not a replacement for formal therapy, these classes can have a profound impact on their lives. Our dedicated therapeutic team monitors progress and offers support for successful outcomes.
