OCCTAC Quarterly Update - April 2023
Bloom 23
Where Music and Dance Come to Life

Check out these highlights from Bloom23, the annual Prep Arts Academy Production featuring live music and dance performances! Held at the iconic First Presbyterian Church Santa Ana, this event brought together strategic community members, partners, supporters, creative talent, and families in and around the surrounding areas who participate in various programs offered at OCCTAC.
We're grateful for the support of our sponsors, partners, volunteers, and staff who made this event possible.
Senator Josh Newman

We recently had the pleasure of hosting Senator Josh Newman at OCCTAC on March 31st, 2023. During his visit, Senator Newman had the opportunity to witness the impact our art programs have on the children, youth, and adults we serve. His visit highlights the important role that the arts play in healing, empowerment, and social change. We're grateful for his support and advocacy for our organization and the families in our community.
Boca de Oro

The Santa Ana Boca de Oro Festival of Literary Arts & Culture is an annual festival held in Santa Ana, California that celebrates literature, the arts, and culture. This year's festival, held on May 20th, 2023, was a huge success, drawing over 5,000 visitors from across Orange County and beyond. Attendees enjoyed an array of activities, including live music and dance performances, cultural workshops, art exhibits, and a mercado showcasing the work of local artisans and vendors. From traditional Mexican folklorico dancing to contemporary Latin music and spoken word poetry, the festival was a vibrant celebration of Latino culture and the arts.
Our OCCTAC students from the Preparatory Arts Academy Music Department were among the featured performers at the festival. We are incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication, and the opportunity they had to share their passion with the community.
Orange County Arts and Disability Festival Celebrating Artists with Disabiliti

OCCTAC students will be performing at the 47th annual Orange County Arts and Disability Festival. Formerly known as VSA, this international organization was founded in 1974 with a mission to provide arts and education opportunities for people with disabilities and to increase access to the arts.
This year's festival, with the theme "The Adventure Starts Here," will take place on April 29th at MainPlace Mall in Santa Ana. Come check out our student's work and performances as they showcase their artistic abilities and share their talents with the community. Get more info.
