Inter-Generational Halloween at OCCTAC
Early Intervention Services for Older Adults celebrated on October 18, 2018 Halloween at Orange County Children Therapeutic Arts Center.
Children and older adults have very limited time to socialized, during our Halloween celebration at OCCTAC our EISOA program for older adults and our Pre-Kinder children have the opportunity to interact. Being in contact could become a great resource for all of them. Traditional families are separated by distance, time and lack of understanding between generation; however, our program brings during this celebration children and older adults together. Inter-generation activities bring benefits for them. Those type of activities help children to understand and later accept their own aging and reduce isolation of older adults.

FALL IS HERE
Our OCCTAC adult students from the Santa Ana Childcare Worker Program, get together to create an interactive children's book titled "Fall is Here" to be used during our Early Start and Pre-Kinder Arts Program.
Our students took 2 weeks to create this beautiful book, using collage, art and techniques learned during their certificate program in order to help enhance the mental development of our early age students.

OCCTAC's First SAUSD Art Show of The 2018 - 2019 School Year
OCCTAC had our first series of Art Shows at different Elementary Schools from students involved in the SAUSD After School Program, Engage360!
During this first rotation, we introduced the artist Alma Thomas who was heavily influenced by the use of colors, patterns, balance and pointillism.
During this rotation, the students were able to learn about the different techniques she used and were introduced to VAPA standards needed to help develop their artistic skills!!
We can't wait to share more art from our students involved in our future Art Shows!
