FAMILY MENTORING
SUPPORT PROGRAM
The purpose of OCCTAC's "Family Mentoring" Support Program is to increase access to services and support for families who have a child or a youth with a disability. The program empowers caregivers to become active, knowledgeable advocates for their children by providing health navigation support and increase the families' access to services for their child to reach their fullest potential.
The goals of the Family Mentoring Support Program are the following:
-
To provide comprehensive family support, integrated health services and resources for families and caregivers.
-
To deliver culturally responsive parent to parent health navigation services to underserved families.
-
To reduce disparities in accessing developmental disability services.
-
To leverage existing services to develop a network and system of collaboration
