EARLY START & PRE-KINDER ARTS
The Early Start and Pre-Kinder Arts program serves very young children (ages 6 months old to 5 years) with all abilities and their parents. These early intervention programs aim at educating parents and their young children together, in a natural community environment that enhances students’ cognitive, language, motor and socio--emotional development. It helps children improve their developmental skills in a fun, creative and learning environment. Our program combines traditional school-ready education with arts education to maximize their learning and fun!

Early Start Program
Our Early Start Program (for ages 6 months - 2.5 years) helps children improve their developmental skills in a fun, creative and learning environment:

Pre-Kinder Arts Program
Our Pre-Kinder Arts Program (for ages 3 – 5 years old) helps children develop school readiness/ academic skills and creativity in a fun, creative learning environment:
Activities for Students
* Circle Time Activities: Singing, “Interactive Calendar” (days/months of the year), counting days of the month, Story/book of the day, Family Literacy, Sharing Homework and small books, and Song of the day.
* Small Groups Activities: Creating Small Books together (cutting/pasting/writing) and Reading, Music, Art and Movement activities.
* School Readiness Skills and Arts Activities: Language, Cognitive and Art development activities to build children’s vocabulary, cognition and basic skills.
* Free Play: A variety of activities, such as art, dramatic play, music, art, blocks & puzzles, computers and other educational games.
* Parenting Classes: Focus on important child development topics, including discipline strategies, child abuse prevention, school readiness and others.

Note : We provide snacks although parents are encouraged to bring their own if they prefer. A caregiver is required to be at the facility at all times while the child is in class.*
Child Care Worker Certificate
Parents and caregivers accompanying children are strongly encouraged to register for the free classes that are provided in partnership by the Santa Ana College, concurrently with both the Early Start and Pre-Kinder Arts Programs. If an adult is interested in becoming a certified Child Care Worker then they are required to register and complete all five of the courses listed below. These courses are free of charge and open to the public. You are NOT required to enroll a child in any of our programs to register for these adult courses. Completion of all five courses will grant the adult a Child Care Worker Certificate from the Rancho Santiago Community College District, and the person is also eligible for a State Certificate.
